I’m royally pissed with my canoscan 4400F so-called flatbed scanner fuckup. For the past three months I was in greece I was sending my negatives to a lab for scanning and during this period I had forgotten how shitty my scanner is. I can’t look at these frames now. They all look bloody washed out and out of focus. I convinced myself I can’t handle this image quality and weird lines appearing in my frames anymore. Contrast is hideous. I need to buy a decent film scanner. I hear nikon’s coolscans are quite good for the money. I found a sorta cheap coolscan V. Do you people have any other suggestions whatsoever, I’m all ears.
The following are from two rolls, an old tri-x and a cross processed sensia I converted to black and white since colors didn’t turn out as expected. I know, cross process an’ everything. All shot with the leica M7 and nokton 35mm f1.4.
marianna checking out a henri cartier-bresson book. in si doux once again (I spend so much time in this cafe when I’m in Patras that I seriously believe they will someday ask me to pay rent or something). note the beautiful bubbles.
this is a tutorial on how to screw up a frame in the developing and scanning process. korina’s flat, athens.

josef kudelka’s expo in athens. also presenting, not for the first (or last) time: mister mutant-hair stuck inside canoscan’s lamp. Cool perspective too, I love it when I’m unable to hold the camera still.

I don’t really know why the last four posts are single-framed. I guess since I haven’t got the mood to develop some rolls I keep distracting my boredom in such a way. Last night I went to a friend’s house for dinner with some other people also invited. I think I might have some minor lack of memories from that night. Went back home, slept for five hours, woke up with a head bigger in diameter than london egg, had a beer and went to basketball-sunday. Returned home only to find out I’m out of cigarette paper so I can’t inhale any sweet sweet nicotine. Too much talkie though, this one more singled frame entry is from trizonia island, greece. Was one of these first shots you get when loading the film that you just want to burn and so.. you just don’t meter. Full of dust that I won’t even think of getting out. ever. Shot with leica M7, cv nokton 35/1.4 on kodak trix 400@400.
